  • Start with short sessions:  Begin with just a few minutes of meditation each day and gradually increase the duration as you become more comfortable.
  • Prepare your sacred space:  Choose a peaceful and comfortable space where you can meditate without distractions.  Smudge, light a candle, use essential oils, and create an intention to clear the space.
  • Focus on the breath: use the breath as an anchor to bring your attention into the present moment and cultivate a state of mindfulness.  Be gentle – breathing in through the nose and then releasing through the mouth. 
  • Explore different meditation techniques: experiment with various techniques such as mindfulness meditation, guided meditation, loving kindness meditation, or healing meditation to find out what resonates with you. You can start with a simple meditation of listening to vibrational music such as the Ohm, chanting or other melodic background sounds/music.  There are so many beautiful meditations available online – be guided to one and try it!
  • Consistency is the key: establish a regular meditation routine whether it is in the morning, evening or at any time that suits your schedule. Consistency will yield greater benefits over time.
